Kennedy Space Center is located in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Cape Canaveral, located on the East Coast of Florida, is most known for being home to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, where many space shuttles and rockets have launched over the years. I’ve been to the space center twice, the first time of which harkens back to the days when the legacy space shuttles (Atlantis, etc.) were still launching in 2008 (the last launch was in 2011). However, there’s more to Cape Canaveral than just the space center: It’s also home to a busy port with cruise ships coming and going, and there’s lots of activity places, including the Golf N Gator putt putt place where you can play mini-golf in a little alligator zoo. The Cape Canaveral area is home to more than 5,000 alligators and lots of other wildlife.

How: I spotted this gator while walking around the outdoor part of the Kennedy Space Center. It was the first alligator I ever saw. You also can take a bus ride and see them along the side of the road throughout the complex.

How: Took a cruise ship from New York to Cape Canaveral, then just took an Uber to the putt putt course. We didn’t expect live gators to actually be there, but they are kept in an enclosed area, and we played golf around them.
