Sedona, Arizona, is located in the middle of Arizona, a ways north of Phoenix. It’s in a desert region with a lot of really cool, pretty rocks and canyons. It’s also known as a place for spiritual healing. It’s very warm – I drank a lot of water on the hikes we went on, and I went in September. The town itself had a lot of interesting little shops, and I also went on several hikes, including Soldier Pass Trail in Red Rock Country. Along that trail, I spotted several lizards and the canyon tree frogs.

What: Canyon Tree Frog
When: September 2012
Where: I spotted two canyon tree frogs hanging onto rocks along the Soldier Pass Trail and Seven Sacred Pools. One, the lighter colored of the two shown above, was basking in the sun, while the other, the darker colored one, was in the shade. They were small and hard to spot at first.
How: I hiked along the Soldier Pass Trail midday and happened upon them near a pool of water.
